Ingredienti
  

For the crust
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup cold butter (cubed) Keep the butter cold for a flaky crust.
  • 6-8 tbsp ice water Add gradually until dough forms.
For the filling
  • 6 apples (peeled and sliced) Use a mix of different varieties for best flavor.
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce For drizzling on top.
  • 0.5 tsp flaky sea salt For finishing.
  • 1 egg for egg wash To brush on crust before baking.
Optional
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream To serve with pie.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  2. Stir in ice water until the dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a pie plate.
Filling
  1. In another bowl, mix sliced apples with brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  2. Pour the apple filling into the prepared crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until apples are soft and the crust is golden brown.
  2. Remove from oven and drizzle caramel sauce over the top, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, and brush with egg wash.
  3. Let the pie cool before serving.

Note

Apple pie is best served warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
