Ingredienti
  

For the crust
  • 200 g pasta frolla Store-bought or homemade
For the filling
  • 500 ml milk Whole milk recommended
  • 4 pieces egg yolks
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 g flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 50 g pine nuts
  • to taste Powdered sugar For dusting before serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the pasta frolla and line a pie dish with it.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and flour.
  5. Gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring until it thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  7. Pour the pastry cream into the crust and smooth the top.
  8. Sprinkle pine nuts on top of the filling.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  2. Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Note

To serve, cut into slices and serve with tea or coffee. Add fresh fruits or whipped cream for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze for up to a month.
